VALLEY OF FLOWER  is a renowned world heritage site and is distinguished for its rich and unique biodiversity. There are more than 200 species of flowers identified yet. The valley occupy about 20km squire area just close to greater Himalaya and is surrounded by lofty snow clad peaks and Bhojpatra (birch) trees. . Many scientists, researchers and nature lovers

LOCATION Valley of flower & Hemkund is located in between Alaknanda and Dhauliganga valleys in greater Himalaya of Chamoli district in Uttarakhand state,India. Govind ghat, from where the trek starts 260 kms away from Rishikesh by motor road.

Hemkund Sahib :-The tenth Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Govind Singhji mediated at Hemkund Sahib for years. The word Hemkund literally suggests ‘Lake of snow’ and the immaculate water of this lake is as cold as snow. Hemkund Sahib is located at an elevation of 4,329mts above sea level amidst several snow capped peaks, which are collectively called Hemkund Parbat. A star shaped gurudwara near the lake is visited by thousands of devotees every month. A temple dedicated to Lakshman, brother of Lord Rama is also located here. One must complete a trek of 6 km from Ghangaria to reach Hemkund Sahib. The best time to visit this place is from July to November.

Day 1

Rishikesh to Govind ghat (1800m) (where the trek starts) 260km total drive from Rishikesh via – Srinagar-Rudraprayag-Karnprayag – Joshimath.

Day 2

Govindghat to Ghangaria ( 3000 m) – 13 kms ascending walk along with Pushpawati river crossing two villages Pulna & bhyundar.

Day 3

Ghangaria to valley of flowers (4000m), minimum 4 km ascending walk enters you at gate way to the Valley of flowers. And return to Ghangaria at evening for night halt.

Day 4

Ghangaria to Hemkund (4100m) and return to Ghangaria – Total 12 Kms ascending and descending walk.

Day 5

Ghangaria Govindghat, 13 km descending walk, night halt at Badrinath.

Day 6

Return to Rishikesh  along with a beautiful river called Ganga.
