DEORIA TAL UTTARAKHAND

Deoria Tal is located at a trekking distance of about 2.5 KMs from Sari Village in Chopta region and comes under Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. Sari Village is located about 13 KMs ahead of Ukhimath.

Altitude of Deoria Tal is about 2,450 Mtrs or 8038 Feet.

The Deoriatal Chandrashila summit trek is an easy trek. On the second day of your trek, you cover 8 km which requires some stamina. The climb to Tungnath and Chandrashila is steep and this portion could strain your legs if you go unprepared. Frankly, the trek has too many visual rewards for those stepping into the world of Himalayan trekking for the first time.

Everybody! Deoria tal/ Devariyatal trek is primarily for first timers who want an introduction to trekking in the Himalayas. It’s also for seasoned trekkers who wish to go on a leisurely trek. Children from the age of 7 can do this trek and so can people over the age of 60 as long as they are fit. The Deoriatal trek with Chandrahils Trek has components of every great Himalayan trek. From mixed forests with oak and rhododendrons to meadows, a glacial lake, stunning mountain views.

The Deoriatal Chandrashila peak trek by itself does not pose any risks. In the months of May and June, there will be snow and this makes walking slightly tricky. You will be provided with micro spikes that will help you gain grip. If there is too much snow, a technical guide will carve a route for you to the summit. In case of emergencies, there are easy exit routes from Sari and Chopta which have road connectivity.

To be able to effortlessly do this trek and enjoy all the views, you need to be persistent on fitness. To increase your lung capacity, begin with jogging on a daily basis. Increase the distance covered till you hit 2 km. Once you are comfortable with jogging for 2 km, increase your pace. For those of you who are unable to jog due to health reasons, brisk walking for half an hour will suffice.

Almost any vehicle (car/bike) in perfect running condition can take you up to Sari and after that you have to climb uphill 2.5km to reach Deoriatal,.

There is no famous food joint near Deoriatal but The Reflection Restaurant own by Magpie Eco Retreat would be better choice for delicious Food in Deoriatal, it served food in day time for non booking guest .

Mobile signals for Airtel , Vodafone ,BSNL and IDEA & Jio Works in Deoriata, Sari but you may find a bit poor connectivity at Deoria Tal.

Nearest Petrol Pump is at Kund about 7 KMs before Ukhimath. I will suggest that you top-up the fuel either at Srinagar or Rudra Prayag.

Ukhimath ATM is the closet ATM from Deoriatal . there are PNB & SBI only two ATM in Ukhimath.

• By Air: Nearest airport is Jolly Grant, Bhaniawala, Dehradun, 20 KMs from Rishikesh. After reaching Rishikesh you need to carry rest of the journey by road only. Rishikesh to Sari is about 190KMs by Road and then 2.5 Km uphill Trek up to Deoriatal. Or you Can suggest Deoria Tal Stay on your last night in Chopta.
• By Rail: Nearest railway station is at Rishikesh but quite frequent Trains up to Haridwar only. After reaching Haridwar you need to carry rest of the journey by road only. Haridwar to Sari 220KMs.
• By Road: Below is the route that needs to be followed to reach Deoria Tal from Delhi –
  Delhi – Haridwar (210 KMs) – Rishikesh – Dev Prayag – Srinagar – Rudra Prayag (take left towards Kedarnath- *** please do not use Google map to reach Chopta ) – Agustmuni – Syal Saur – Kund – Ukhimath – Sari Village (415 KMs) – Deoria Tal (2.5Km by Trek)
  One Can Reach Sari Village to drive about 13 KMs from Ukhimath and from Sari Village one can reach Deoria Tal by a trek route of 2.5 KMs approx. There is no motorable road to Deoria Tal. The trek is a paved path from Sari Village up to Deoria Tal, although it is quite steep at some places but its Easy Trek.
